EHA launches 2 new skin fabulous products for your everyday hydration needs- The Hydra Serum and Moisturising Gel

EHA recently invited me back to their retail outlet to witness the launch of 2 of their latest  products. Skin hydration is crucial for our skin, so that we do not look like an old, wrinkled old woman who carries a saggy face.

Other than catching up with some bloggers and making some new friends, it was a pleasure and bonus to be able to take a photo with the gorgeous May Phua. I swear i was so tired, you could totally tell from my eyes (I was struggling so hard to keep them open).

EHA took close to 3 years to come up with the right formulation of hyaluronic acid in their EHA Hydra Serum. This serum consist of a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid which is light-weight and does not clog pores. If you are wondering, sensitive skin people can also use this serum too, as I have personally tested it on my hands and face. It does not have any negative reaction.

It feels slightly sticky and dense initially when you applied the serum onto your skin, and its fun to watch the serum roll on your skin, but it magically “dissolves” into your skin like water when you gently pat the serum on your skin. The serum is clear, courless and odorless or fragrance-less as some may call it, perfect for simple minded skincare loving individuals like me.

The product comes in a lovely clear dispensable bottle which allows you to keep sight of how much serum is left and dispense easily and without wastage with a single press of the pump.

The serum retails at $120 for 30ml but its really worth it because you are paying for a quality serum that instantly hydrates and plumps up your skin within a few mere minutes of application.  This product is suitable for day and night use on all skin types including the sensitive, oily or acne prone skin.

Another of their product which was recommended to be used after the application of the EHA Hydra Serum is the EHA Moisturising Gel.

The EHA Moisturising Gel is a gel-based-lotion which when applied, forms a protective barrier to lock in moisture and nutrients on your skin so that it stays hydrated for a longer time. Apply it as a replacement of your face primer and see your foundation last longer.

The product contains Evening Primerose extract, seaweed extract, plant collagen and protein for their whitening, hydrating and anti-aging properties. It does not contain artificial activators and alcohol. The moisturising gel is suitable for even the oily and acne prone skin. Silicon is added to protect your skin from oxidation and Titanium Dioxide is added for its sun protection properties.

A closer look at the moisturising gel. The gel is white, light, and odorless.

I like the idea of having the protective shield on my skin and having it protect my skin especially when I sleep. The water droplets reminds me of a certain “sleeping mask”. My skin feel so smooth, protected and moisturized after I applied the moisturizing gel.

The moisturising gel retails at $88 for 50ml. Suitable for day and night use on all skin types including the sensitive, oily or acne prone skin.

Both products are formulated by a team of experts from Japan and can be purchased at:

EHA Skincare which is located at,
#03-28 Shaw Centre in Orchard.

Bejeweled is really good at nail art. If you had followed me at my blogspot or on my Instagram account, you might have seen my Disney inspired nails and pinkish glass nails. I miss seeing my nails decked beautifully in colours and of various designs. I never failed to get complimented each time I had my nails done.

Don’t you just love the colours which I had chosen? Well, at least I do. Its not “me” as I would usually go for the pastel shades of pink or very colourful nails. Its time for a change this round. Just to share with you, there is an on-going  Gelish Manicure & Express Pedicure promotion right now. Pay $58 instead of the usual $75.

If you have been wanting to try their facial, the Vagheggi PHA Peel treatment is new and going at a launch price of $58 instead of $98.

Cha Thai – by LOAVESme

If you were to ask me about my favorite food, it has to be either Thai or Japanese. When it comes to Thai food, many people associate them with the cheap Thai street food that we can get along the streets of Thailand. Cha Thai is here to debunk this myth.

“The quality of Cha Thai’s food is the result of premium quality ingredients, along with traditional (not authentic) recipes cooked with modern techniques, to bring out another dimension in the taste of Thai, so our customers experience the best of Fine Thai Food” Leah – Owner, Cha Thai

You may wonder why the hefty price tag here? This is due to the difference in the quality of the meat and many other ingredients involved, and the cooking techniques and time taken with these techniques.

At Cha Thai, their meat are sous vide before cooking, that involves lots of time and effort  to ensure that the meat is tender. All their gravy, sauces, pastes, drinks, etc. are made from scratch. They use only Thai ingredients/condiments.

Crispy Prawn Cake $15 –
Tiger prawns are used for these prawn cakes as well as in all their prawn dishes. This is their way of pampering their guest… with the finest ingredients. These crispy prawn cakes doesn’t taste like the typical types you get from the market which taste more of flour and fish. One piece is simply not enough for me. Dip them into the plum sauce and enjoy every bite.

Creamy Crab Roll $15-
I loved this delicious dip for my spring rolls. I could just eat the dip with a bowl of rice by itself. Flavorful and full of crab meat, this is one good appetizer to order while waiting for your mains to arrive.

Lemongrass Prawn Salad $28-
This is a super pampering dish with minced pork all over my prawns. I thought it was interesting to combine them and I enjoyed chomping down these Tiger Prawns. Those who love savory seafood have to go for this!

Signature Tiger Prawn ‘Panang’ Curry $28-
I loved how they combine the lychees in this not so spicy Panang curry. There were lots of coconut so yes, it made me felt guilty but the lychees brought some sweetness to this curry dish.

Saute Kai Lan with Roasted Pork $16-
Kai Lan is one of my favorite vegetable of all times especially when paired with roasted pork. Thank you for making it just the way I like it crunchy and delicious.

Boat Noodles $18-
While the noodles had a nice and chewy texture, the meat and meatball had been marinated with 15 types of herbs so it is very subjective to the taste buds. Some would love this, while others like me, probably doesn’t know how to appreciate this so go ahead and give it a try before you decide.

Pineapple Red Curry (with pork loin) $18-
It seems like Cha Thai is clever to incorporate fruits into your diet in an unusual way. Other than pampering you with Tiger prawns, you get to chomp on some fruits from your curry.

Garlic Pork with Bird’s Chili $18-
I tried to take a bite into the Bird’s chili and yes, these are super spicy so be warned. The chili did not affect the taste of the pork so go ahead and dig into the pork, it is not as spicy as it seemed.

Smoothies $4.50 | Cold Drinks $2.90| Hot Drinks $2.50
Don’t worry if you are feeling the heat from the bird’s chili, go ahead and grab some drinks. We tried the black tea and green tea since they were highly recommended.

Look! Its a smiling prawn!

12Pad Thai $22-
Here comes another of my favorite dish, equivalent to the Singapore’s  Char Kway Teow. The Pad Thai had generous servings of tiger prawns, peanut, shrimps, beansprouts and fried bean curd on them.

Premium Giant Tiger Prawns Claypot Glass Noodles $159 / Tiger Prawns Claypot Glass Noodles $55 (for 4 pax)-

The giant tiger prawn used in this dish is about 35-40cm, that explains the hefty price tag. Go ahead, let loose and indulge yourself once in a while. The serving is quite huge so you can share it with a few friends. I love the tiger prawns and the glass noodles which soaked up the gravy so well. Chomp on the garlic too, they are so fragrant and they are great for health.

Red Ruby $8 | Summer Potato (sweet potato) $8 | Sweet Corn Herbal Jelly $8-
Emerald Jade (green ruby) $8-

Tropical Paradise (mango sticky rice with ice-cream) $12-

All the desserts were mostly coconut based and they are nice. This particular one was amazing! It was my favorite dessert of all five. I find the combination of the cold coconut ice-cream on top and hot mango sticky rice below it a very nice fit. Despite having tried so many dishes, I still felt like I could have more of this.

Overall this makes a great place for a nice meal if your wallets allow, otherwise grab a few more friends to share the bill. Nice, pleasant ambience with fabulous Thai Food, for the Tiger prawn dishes, you should at least try one of them while you are there.

Hajime Tonkatsu and Ramen Restaurant

“Hajime is the Japanese word for “beginning” (初め) and the short form for “Hajimemashite”, which means “Nice to meet you”. It represents our philosophy of going back to food’s beginning and our warm welcome to all patrons.”  –

Meet Chef Tan-San, whom is often mistaken as a Japanese due to his signature mustache. He is Singapore’s First Tonkatsu Chef. He brings along with him some 25 years of experience as a chef, from his early days working in the kitchen of Tonikichi, Singapore’s first Tonkatsu specialty restaurant under the Pokka Group. He was also the pioneer chef who started the popular Tampopo Japanese restaurant chain.

Expect tip-top good quality food at reasonable and affordable prices without service charges. Despite that, you can see that they put it every effort to make every dish the same standard in terms of taste, appearance and quality.

Our appetizer arrived with the Roasted Edamame $3.90. Notice that the edamame is not the usual boiled types but these are air flown in from Japan, slightly charred from its roasting and sprinkled with salt to enhance its flavor. One can never stop snacking on these and I think they make good guilt-free and healthy snacks.

I used to snack on this because I think they’re healthier than potato chips!

3Next, we were presented with the Gyoza $6.90. I personally thought these Gyoza tasted quite ordinary but tasty nevertheless.

Ebi Fry x3, $6.90 was super crispy on the outside and tasted really good unlike the usual tempura which tasted thick with batter and flour. The bread crumbs which they used for coating the prawn is breaded and fried upon order so you can be assured they are the freshest.

At only $19.90, you get to enjoy a full set meal with the Premium Pork Loin Tonkatsu. I was quite happy that at nothing more than $20, I can get such high quality, Japanese air flown pork. Special cuts of pork loin meat was selected because of the balance of the fat and marbling so that customers enjoys only the best Tonkatsu from the combination of the tenderised meat which is freshly breaded fried to crispness and perfection.

The crispiness last throughout the meal even after the Tonkatsu was left aside and almost forgotten with the rest of the upcoming dishes that we were presented with.

The rice that you eat here is not normal Japanese pearl rice, they are flown in from Niigata, grown from the pristine waters from melting snow. Not only that, efforts were put in to create the in-house pickles so that you can eat them with your rice.

Even the soup is not ordinary Miso soup, you get a bowl of deliciously cooked overnight  tonijiru broth which has been simmered for 12hours using Japanese pork, radish, carrots, burdock and added with a hint of Yuzu.

These sesame seeds are lightly roasted to bring out their fragrance, for your personal grinding experience, blended with their Tonkatsu sauce and used as a dipping sauce.  They tasted great.

If you prefer the Fillet version, try the Miso Fillet $17.90 which as little bits of pink in the centre, juicy and tender with the red wine miso sauce which seemed to be a fan with ladies. Order this set and you’ll get the rice, soup and watermelon as well.

There are different dressings and sauce meant for everything so go ahead and pick your favourite to go with your dish.

Unlike the usual cooking method of having the Pork Katsu and the egg cooked with the gravy, Chef Tan improvises this by having the Katsu Don $12.90 cooked in a different way. In order to preserve the Katsu’s crispness, the Pork katsu and Niigata rice is separated by a slice of seaweed, the home made donburi sauce with caramelised onion is laid over the katsu. Order this set, and you’ll get the rice, soup and watermelon as well.

If rice is just not your thing, try the Tonkatsu Ramen $14.90 made of Nama noodles with a beautifully simmered for 12 hours broth. There is no MSG added to it so feel free to savor up to the last drop.

9With Farrah, Kenneth, Soon Hui, Chef Tan and my hubby

Overall I love how the food was presented with attention given to both the plating and the diner’s taste buds. The price is reasonable and the food is of great quality. We enjoyed all the dishes and the company. Thanks Chef-Tan for being so particular on ensuring that every dish send out is of equal quality, looks good and taste the same every single time.

Asus Zenfone 3 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Having played with the husband’s Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the newly launched Asus Zenfone 3. I am now going to compare these 2 gadgets. This post shall focus on the comparison between the Asus Zenfone 3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. It will be a general post, focusing more on areas such as the appearance, photo-taking capabilities, hardware and battery life.

A very obvious difference when the 2 phones are put side by side would be the way their buttons are displayed on the phone. Asus Zenfone 3 has their back, home and collapse button imprinted on the phone whereas Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge choose to have it “hidden”. This wouldn’t be much of an issue because previous users of the Asus Zenfone or Samsung phones would already be used to where the buttons are located. It wouldn’t take you too long to get used to it anyway, even if you have switched camps.

Both phones looks quite similar from far in terms of their sizing, they in fact share the same screen size at 5.5″. In terms of weight, Asus Zenfone 3 is slightly lighter at 155g, whereas Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge is at 157g. Not much of a difference in terms of their display screen size or weight. Both of them look sleek and classy, they are also good to hold.

One commendable feature of the Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge is that the phone is water proof although we would not be bringing our phones into the swimming pool. It is a good to have feature. Both phones have scratch-free corning gorilla glass 4, making them resistant to scratches and you are less prone to leaving fingerprints on its screen.

Both phones comes with fingerprint sensors which allows you unlock your phone with ease and act as a great security feature. Asus Zenfone 3 has it’s fingerprint sensor on the back of its phone, while Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge has theirs’ located on the home button.

In terms of their photo-taking capabilities, Asus Zenfone 3 is a 16 megapixels camera with dual led flash whereas Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge is only 12 megapixels with LED flash. Asus Zenfone 3 has auto focus, image stabilization for shaky hands and laser focus, whereas Samsung Galaxy 7 edge have everything mentioned minus the laser focus. It has however, more camera modes to meddle with compare to the Asus Zenfone 3.

Famous for its Zenfone Selfie camera feature, Asus Zenfone 3 also has a strong selfie (Front facing camera) at 8 megapixels compared to Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge which has only 5 mega pixels. It is no wonder the selfie modes are a much loved feature of the Asus Zenfone 3.

For some reason, the Samsung Galaxy’s image appearance looked more vivid and lively with a faster snap processing time compared to the Asus Zenfone 3. (Top image)

Hardware and Battery:
Asus Zenfone 3 operates on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge operates on Samsung Exynos 8 Octa. Both phones runs on 4gb ram and are capable of storage expansion via microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC with up to 128GB for the Asus Zenfone 3 and up to 200GB for the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Both batteries are in-built, which seemed to be a common trend in new phones nowadays. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a slightly more battery capacity of 3600mAh, while Asus Zenfone 3 has a battery capacity of 3000mAh. They should be able to last you a good day of normal phone usage  before your next charge is required.

Both phones have fast charging capabilities. The Asus Zenfone 3 uses USB type c port, while Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge uses a micro usb port.

Disclaimer: This article is made possible by ASUS Mobile Singapore and my husband. Thank you for the opportunity to experience Asus Zenfone 3. Thank you hubby for loaning me your phone for this review.
